How to remove the background from a photo for free (no software)
Removing the background from a photo used to be a designer's job in Photoshop. Today AI does it in seconds, for free and without installing software. This guide shows you the fastest method and the tricks that make the result look professional.
The method: AI in your browser
Modern tools use segmentation models: an AI trained to tell a photo's "subject" (a person, product or pet) apart from its background. With BulClick's background remover the process looks like this:

When to use manual touch-up
The AI gets most real photos right on its own: products, people, pets. But some cases are hard: very fine hair, glass objects or designed images with text and effects on top. The 3 most common mistakes
- Saving as JPG and expecting transparency. JPG does not support transparency: the "removed" background will be filled with white. Use PNG or WebP.
- Processing an already-designed image. If your photo already has text and graphics on top, no remover will separate it cleanly. Remove the background from the original photo and add the design afterwards.
- Starting from a low-quality photo. The AI cuts better the sharper the edge between subject and background. A well-lit photo gives a clean cutout on the first try.
