Why can I not open my iPhone HEIC files?
HEIC is the Apple format. It saves space but Windows, Android and most programs do not read it without installing extras. JPG is the universal option and that is why converting solves it once and for all.
Do my photos get uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser with your own computer processor. The photos never leave your device, which is also why it works with no sign-up.
Do I lose quality when converting?
JPG compresses with loss, but at quality 82 the difference is not visible on screen. If you are going to print or edit later, raise the slider to 95 and the loss stops mattering.
Can I convert all my photos at once?
Yes. Drag in the whole folder, or a ZIP, and download everything converted as a single ZIP. There is no file-count limit beyond what your computer memory allows.
